How do I Create a Action Layer in Flash Professional 8 for Multiple Buttons?

Adobe Flash is a Web design tool that is used to create interactive Web content and applications. As of October 2010 it was updated and released with the Creative Suite 5 package. Flash 8 is a previous flash version.

  1. Layers

    • Any Flash application that you develop will be built in layers. This means that as you design you have the option to stack layers of artwork or necessary script and code to help make your program function appropriately. Imagine sheets of paper arranged in a pile. Each sheet would represent a layer in Flash.

    Actions

    • Flash uses its own language called ActionScript. ActionScript has the power to control events within the Flash application you create. Actions can range from complex animations to a simple roll over button that changes color when a cursor is placed over it.

    Creating an Actions Layer

    • Actions can be stored in any layer of the document. It is best to keep the ActionScript separate in the top most layer of the document. Do this by selecting the present layer then clicking on "Timeline" then "Layer." A new layer will be created on top of the current layer. Store all of your ActionScript in this new actions layer.
