Handmade Christmas Candle Decorations

Candles are popular Christmas decorations because they look and feel so warm and inviting. Make or decorate Christmas candles to use in your own home or give to others as holiday gifts.

Decorated Jars

Start with either store-bought jarred candles or make your own by melting commercially available candle wax and pouring it into a jar around a wick. Decorate the jars by hot-gun gluing beads in Christmas colors and shapes around the outside rim of the jar. Alternately, arrange beads in a variety of colors on the side of the jar to make a large Christmas-related image.

Shaped Candles

Make Christmas candles from cookie cutters and beeswax sheets. Choose wax in a few colors that look good together and cut 10 sheets with the same cookie cutter. Stack sheets of beeswax exactly on each other to make two sets of five sheets. Lay out a wick between the sets and press them all together while gently warming them with a hair dryer so they stick.

Glitter Candles

Add a handmade touch to any store-bought pillar or taper candle by coating it in glitter. Choose from red, green, gold, silver or a combination of two of the colors. Coat the candle with spray adhesive or paint it with glue before rolling it in glitter. Shake off excess and allow the candle to dry.
