If printers are well-maintained, chances of papers jams are minimal.

Classification of printers can either be impact or non-impact. Printers can also be categorized based on print methods or technology. Though these printers have many benefits, they also experience slight technicalities. Paper jams are one of the most common problems experienced by most printers.

  1. Dot Matrix Printers

    • These printers have a unique technique concerning their printing method. They have paper feeding of a unique design, hence the probability of paper jams is minimal. This printer can produce multiple copies at a time but with no paper jams experience, which give them a huge advantage over the other modernized printers.

    Plotters

    • Printing of copies by the plotters is strategic. The plotter printer is very bulky, but it can print only one copy at a time. Plotters do not experience paper jams because only one paper can be printed at a time, and the size of the paper is very large. Plotters are usually used for graphical printing and architectural design works.

    Laser printers

    • Most of these laser printers are used to print text. The paper jam problem on these printers can be caused by worn rollers, dirty internal mechanisms and use of wrong paper type. However, if these rollers are replaced from time to time, the internal mechanisms continuously cleaned and the right paper type used, paper jams in these laser printers will be unlikely.
