NICET Certification

NICET certification exam takes almost a day and is quite comprehensive. There are three basic steps to gaining an NICET certification. First is having required work experience, submitting a supervisor's evaluation and passing a written exam. Higher level certificates require personal recommendations from other professionals. The second step constitutes completing an application including a work history, verification of your work performance --- preferably by someone other than your supervisor --- and a list your work goals and education. Finally, you have to take the certification examination. Running most of a day, it covers 34 crucial elements a technician must know and you can use handbooks, manuals, code books and other references. NICET certification is valid for three years, with an annual registry fee of $40. There is also a requirement for continuing professional training.
