The Policies & Procedures for Drop-In Centers

Drop-in centers allow communities to serve their members with special needs. Types of drop-in centers include women's clinics, homeless centers, and adult day programs. Governing policies at drop-in centers require registration and access to resources for their members.

Services

Services that drop-in centers provide are free showers, restrooms, computer use, game room, TV room, arts/crafts, and spiritual/pastoral care. Free referral services and nursing care may also be provided at the drop-in site.

Transportation

Drop-in centers connect the community with governing agencies such as the department of transportation. Centers must be highly visible and easy to find with convenient hours of operation.

Staff

Any staff at the drop-in center must have a vested interest and become knowledgeable about the center's services, events or facilities. Some centers may not be attended by staff and instead serve to exhibit community information.
