NCO JPEG files are compressed versions of a common picture file format.

NCO JPEG files are commonly found when you have successfully backed up picture files using Nero software. These files require additional effort to be reopened in their original picture format.

  1. Creation

    • NCO JPEG files are created when Nero software is used to back up computer files onto another hard disk or a type of optical media. These files are compressed versions of their originals and therefore use less disk space.

    File

    • NCO JPEG files will bear the .nco extension after the file name. The original file would've featured a .jpeg extension. JPEG is a common file format for digital images taken by digital cameras.

    Conversion

    • When an NCO JPEG file is in a compressed format with the .nco extension, it cannot be opened by a typical image-viewing program. Unless you are using Nero software to view the image, the file must be converted back to a .jpeg extension to be opened on a computer. If Nero BackItUp software is installed on your computer, you may right-click the desired file and choose "Save as." This will allow you to save the file in its original state wherever you desire.
