HP 29 Refill Instructions
Ink cartridges for printers are not cheap. An alternative to buying new ink cartridges is available: ink refill kits. One refill kit cost around the same amount as one ink cartridge but can refill a single HP 29 cartridge two to four times.
-
Supplies
-
After buying an ink refill kit, get scotch tape, paper towels, and a ballpoint pen.
Prep
-
Remove the ink cartridge from your printer and tape the bottom head of the cartridge to prevent possible leaking. On the top corner hole is a ball that you'll need to push down with either a ballpoint pen or the needle provided by the refill kit.
-
Inject Ink
-
With the cartridge in the upright position inject 20 ml of ink in the top corner hole with the syringe. Gently squeeze the cartridge and tape the hole to create an airtight seal. Remove the tape from the bottom of the cartridge and wipe off any excess ink.
Final Step
-
Put the cartridge back in your printer and run one to three cleaning cycles to get the ink running to the head.
