Chai tea is a drink that combines black tea, sweetener, milk and an array of spices. It is originally from India. Green tea comes from a plant and is not flavored as much, thus tasting earthy, grassy, slightly sweet or slightly bitter. It originated in East Asia. Both teas are enjoyed all over the world.   1. Caffeine Levels

    • On average, chai tea contains higher levels of caffeine than green tea. An average cup of chai tea can contain a caffeine level of 20 mg to 100 mg. A cup of green tea ranges in caffeine levels from 10 mg to 35 mg. These levels vary depending on how long you steep your tea.

    Benefits of Chai

    • The many spices of chai tea include cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg, clove, cardamon, fennel and ginger. Eastern medicine has long used these spices for healing purposes. Chai is used as an antioxidant, a mood elevator, a breath freshener, a stress reliever, and a stimulant for the circulatory and immune systems.

    Benefits of Green Tea

    • Green tea's natural plant leaves contain high levels of polyphenols, powerful antioxidants that lower the body's free radicals. In ancient times, green tea was used as a diuretic, a stimulant, to promote digestion, to strengthen heart health, to heal wounds and to calm.
