How Do I Unzip a File Folder?
Zipped folders may contain images, documents and web pages. The files have been compressed to save space on the server and must be extracted before they can be opened. Windows XP offers several ways to open zipped folders.

A zipped folder containing compressed files is identified by the image of a brown folder with a grey zipper and the extension ".zip." There are three different methods of extracting compressed files in Windows XP.
Method 1

Double-click on the zipped folder icon. In the "Folder Tasks" window, click "Extract All Files." This opens the Windows Extraction Wizard. Click "Next." Using the "Browse" button, select a folder on the computer where you wish to save the extracted files. Click "Next," then "Finish."

Click the zipped folder icon so that it is highlighted. From the "File" menu, select "Extract All." In the Windows Extraction Wizard, click "Next," then select a folder on the computer where the extracted files should be saved. Click "Next," then "Finish."
Method 3

Right-click the zipped folder and select "Extract All." In the Windows Extraction Wizard, click "Next," then select a folder on the computer where you want to save the extracted files. Click "Next," then "Finish."
