Nursing Standards of Care in the State of Michigan
Nursing standards of care in Michigan are enforced by the Michigan Department of Community Health and the Michigan Center for Nursing. The Task Force on Nursing Education (TFNE) is responsible for developing and changing the Nursing Agenda for Michigan.

TFNE maintains standards of nursing care by communicating with the director of the Michigan Department of Community Health. TFNE identifies changes to nursing education curriculum, emphasizes quality patient care and identifies areas of Michigan nursing that need to be strengthened.

This is done by providing current nurses with higher levels of education, and using education to improve the outlook of the Michigan nursing shortage. TFNE emphasizes proper licensing and abiding by state laws and regulations.

Memberships in professional organizations are encouraged, with groups such as the Michigan League of Nursing, Coalition of Michigan Organizations of Nursing, Michigan Association of Colleges of Nursing, and Michigan Council of Nursing Education Administrators.
