Firefighter Training in Frankfort, Illinois

The Frankfort Fire Protection District is 30 miles from Chicago, Illinois. The district offers training to certain groups at its training center and hosts annual training for the local firefighting partnership.

  1. Location

    • The Frankfort Fire Protection District's training is performed at the Frankfort Fire Station 3 in southern Will County.

    Eligibility and Training

    • The training programs offered by the district include covering the annual local Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division 19 Fire Fighter II Academy. This course involves 250 hours of assessment and entitles students to take the State of Illinois Certified Firefighter II exam. Other groups eligible for training are Joliet Junior College Fire Science students. The district also trains firefighters with other state-certified programs.

    • The district training programs are not arranged regularly, but you can get information regarding classes and training programs from the Division Chief, who is also Fire/Rescue Training Coordinator, at Frankfort Station #1 by calling 815-469-1700.
