Mind control, sometimes called mind abuse, thought control or brainwashing, is the systematic use of methods that influence a person's thinking or behavior. There are various methods of mind control, among them hypnosis, subliminal messaging and sleep deprivation.

Hypnosis is an induced mental state in which the person who is hypnotized moves into a state of increased suggestibility. Hypnotists employ various techniques, such as the use of repetitive music and voice-rolls to induce hypnosis.
Subliminal Messaging

Subliminal messaging is a way of sending influential messages to a person's unconscious mind. There are two sense modalities though which to send a subliminal message: auditory and visual. According to the University of Michigan, subliminal messaging is considered an effective way of influencing people's behavior.

Sleep Deprivation

Sleep deprivation entails forcing someone to stay awake for an unhealthy length of time. Sleep deprivation can increase heart rate and body temperature, and can cause hallucinations. According to sleepandhealth.com, Nazi elader Adolf Hitler used sleep deprivation as one of his main techniques for mind control in the 1930s and 1940s.
