Panasonic provide a warranty with Lumix digital cameras

Panasonic offers basic warranty for its Lumix line of digital cameras, assuring buyers that the company will repair or replace a defective camera within a specified time range. You may also buy a third-party extended warranty from many retailers.

Details

The included warranty is limited to one year for parts and 90 days for labor. The display screen is covered for six months for parts and 90 days for labor. Battery packs and memory cards are covered for 90 days, parts only.

The warranty specifies that it is intended to cover defects in materials or workmanship, so it will not be cover wear and tear or cases of accidental damage.

Registration

Panasonic suggests that you register your purchase, which you can be do online. If you do not register, your warranty is still valid but registering is recommended and often simplifies warranty claims.

Suggestion

You may wish to consider taking out an extended warranty via your camera supplier. You may be able to find a warranty that also provides coverage for accidental damage, in case the camera is dropped.
