The acidity of our food affects our health and risk of certain diseases.

Our health and well being is affected by the level of acidity (pH) of the food we eat each day. By increasing our intake of more alkaline foods, we can improve our blood pH balance and help prevent diseases such as osteoporosis, gout, arthritis and rheumatism.

  1. High Alkaline Foods

    Moderately Alkaline Foods

    • Lemons have an alkaline effect on the body.

      Foods that are moderately alkaline include apples, lemons, beetroot, tomatoes, hazelnuts, apricots, bananas, grapes, oranges, peaches, pears, mango, kiwi, strawberries, watermelon, green beans, soybeans, brown sugar, herbs and all other green vegetables.

    Neutral Foods

    • Coffee has neutral acidity when no milk is added to it.

      Foods that have neutral acidity include chocolate, milk, curd cheese, whey, kefir cheese, yogurt, egg whites, white sugar, asparagus, bell peppers, garlic, broccoli, sunflower seeds, margarine, green tea, coffee, honey, tofu, olive oil and sunflower seeds oil.
