Traffic laws in Arkansas are enforced by the Arkansas State Police Department. Officers have the right to issue tickets and citations to all motorists who violate traffic laws, including lighting laws.       Bicycle riders in Arkansas have to follow certain lighting rules while riding at night. Under the guidelines of the Arkansas Code Section 27-36-220, all riders must have a white light attached to the front of their cycle that can be seen from at least 500 feet away when turned on. A red tail light must also be attached to the rear of the cycle and be visible from 500 feet away when activated.
