Social Work & Law Certificates in California
Even after you have earned a professional degree, the learning opportunities do not have to stop. Myriad opportunities to increase your knowledge, skill, and reputation exist by obtaining additional certifications; two areas in which you may do so are social work and legal fields.
-
Social Work
-
There are hundreds of different types of social-work certificates available through the California chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Some of them can even be obtained online. If you work with the elderly, for instance, consider obtaining the certification "Advanced Social Worker of Gerontology."
Law
-
If you are looking to continue your legal education, opportunities abound in California for this purpose as well. Western State University has a certificate program entitled "Certificate of Business Law," designed to prepare recipients for tasks such as advising small and large business owners how to run their organizations successfully.

Considerations
-
When determining whether or not to seek additional certification, consider a few important factors. Certificates can enhance your reputation within your firm or company; in fact, they may be necessary for continued employment. Learning new skills through these programs also gives you the opportunity to network, increasing your business and professional contacts.
