How Deep to Plant a Tree Lily Bulb
Tree lily is a misnomer for an Orienpet hybrid lily that grows to about 4 feet in height, maybe taller. Large bulbs are planted 6 to 8 inches deep and 18 inches apart. Does this Spark an idea?

Tree lilies have two-toned, blended colors. Cooler weather yields richer color while warmer climate will lighten the bloom colors. They tend to grow taller than other lilies and have thick stalks.
Planting Bulbs

Excellent drainage is required for successful growth. Planting areas should be chosen carefully. Small bulbs need to be planted about 3 to 4 inches deep and 12 inches apart. Roots should face downward into the soil while placing 1 inch of soil on top of the bulb. Planting can occur in the fall or spring.

Planting bulbs in garden areas that slope provides natural drainage. Staking and labeling each plant will protect them from trampling. Bulbs can also be planted in containers.
