Microsoft Enterprise Architect Certification

The Microsoft Enterprise Architect certification is a reference to the Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA) program. The MCA program is for the highest achievers in the IT profession. Only those IT professionals who have proven themselves to be top IT solution providers qualify for this certification, according to Microsoft.

Identification

On the average, MCA candidates have at least 10 years of IT experience with at least five years of special architectural experience in designing and implementing IT corporate solutions. Candidates must also have the Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) certification as a prerequisite to the MCA.

Certification Options

MCA candidates have three certification options. They are the Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server and the Windows Server Directory. In addition, Microsoft plans to add the Microsoft Office Communications Server and the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server as of 2010.

Certification Process

Instead of an exam, as with most Microsoft IT certifications, MCA candidates must face an MCA review board consisting of a panel of Microsoft Certified Architects. After completing several prerequisites, candidates must meet with the review board and demonstrate their competencies and proficiencies prior to being certified.
