What Size Kennel Carrer Do I Need for My Dog?

As a pet owner, buying a kennel for your dog is a useful purchase. Not only does it help crate-train your pet, but it also serves as a secure den. When traveling by plane or even car, carriers are also a necessity.

Room to Move

Any carrier that is purchased for your dog must be large enough that the dog can fully stand up while inside. It must also have enough room so that the dog can turn around and comfortably lie down and stretch out.

Room to Grow

If your dog is a puppy when you purchase the carrier, take into consideration what its size will be as an adult dog. Select a carrier that is large enough for it to grow into.

Not Too Large

Unless you are buying a kennel for a puppy to grow into, do not select one that is too large. Excess space in a carrier might be seen by your dog as a place to eliminate. When buying a carrier for your puppy, block off the excess length with bedding or with some form of barrier to prevent the puppy from accessing it.
