Hemp can be used to make rope.

Hemp protein is ideal for vegetarians who wish to supplement their protein intake but remain gluten- or soy-free. It is also becoming a popular supplement among body builders and athletes.

  1. Features

    • Hemp is cultivated from the cannabis plant; however, it does not have the same high-inducing properties as cannabis, because the THC levels are too low. Despite this it is illegal to grow the plant in the majority of the United States, although it is not illegal to manufacture and sell products from it, which are commonly referred to as "industrial hemp."

    Benefits

    • Hemp protein is rich in calcium, iron, beta-carotene, fiber, amino-acids and minerals such as potassium, niacin, magnesium, phosphorus and riboflavin. It is beneficial to those who need additional protein to aid the formation of muscle tissue. It is believed hemp protein is increasing in popularity because it is easily absorbed by the body, leading to faster results.

    Types

    • Hemp protein can be purchased in tablet form, as a syrup, powder or ready-to-drink liquid. Hemp protein has a nutty, earthy flavor but sweetened shakes can also be purchased if its natural flavor isn't appealing. When buying hemp protein, ensure the label states the hemp has not been genetically modified; it should say something like "non-GMO".
