Canon Power Shot A2000 IS Operating Information

Released in summer 2008, the Canon PowerShot A2000 IS is a 10-megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera. It features a 6X optical zoom and fast shutter speeds--up to 1/1600 of a second. The PowerShot A2000 IS sells for $200 as of November 2010.

  1. Shooting

    • Taking pictures with the PowerShot A2000 IS is very straightforward. Make sure you have batteries and a memory card, then turn on the camera. Beginners should use AUTO mode. Frame shots with the LCD screen and press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press it all the way down take the photo. For videos, press the shutter to start recording, then again to stop.

    Viewing

    • Press the playback button on the back of the camera to view images. It enters review mode, starting with the most recent picture. Use the control pad to scroll through your images. Zoom in and out in review mode with the zoom controls. Press down on the control pad to bring up the erase menu.

    Printing

    • The Canon PowerShot series features easy, direct printing that doesn't require transferring the images to a computer first. Connect the camera directly to the printer with the provided USB cable, then turn on the printer and the camera. Enter review mode on the PowerShot, select the image you wish to print and press the print button above the control pad.
