RAF Technical Training
No 1 School of Technical Training is a part of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and it is located at RAF Cosford. Technical Training instruction is offered to servicemen in schools such as the Aerosystems Training Wing, No 1 Radio School and the School of Physical Training.

Wings

There are three primary schools for wings or RAF servicemen who carry out missions or administrative duties. Technical Training for wings involves Aerosystems Training Wing (ATM), Military Training Wing (MTW) and Training Development Wing (TDW). RAF servicemen who attend these schools will receive instruction in areas such as avionics, propulsion, physical exercise and basic engineering. TDW is designed to exclusively create the curriculum for the Defence Aeronautical Engineering Training Environment.
Radio and Photography

No 1 Radio School and Defence School of Photography are two other areas of RAF Technical Training for servicemen. No 1 Radio School provides training for phase 2 and 3 of RAF TG4 communications personnel. Defence School of Photography has the responsibility of training Phase 2 and 3 photographers and it is a part of the Defence Intelligence and Security Centre (DISC) of the RAF.

Other Schools

There are other Technical Training institutions within the RAF and they include the School of Physical Training and the University of Birmingham Air Squadron. School of Physical Training provides Phase 2 and 3 training to Physical Training Officers and instructors and the University of Birmingham Air Squadron is used to train RAF cadets how to operate aircraft.
