Bedroom lighting that showcases significant items in the room is a great idea as well. For instance, if you're decorating your child's bedroom, you may want to install a small spotlight underneath her first baby picture. You can also position a small lamp next to wall accents like a large metal letter that showcases your initial, or a professional photo of your favorite flower.

Considerations

Lighting that is functional and attractive is best for the bedroom. Small lights installed on or near the headboard of the bed will make it easier for you to read at night before going to bed. Separate lighting in the corner of the room where your vanity is will allow you to see clearly when getting ready in the mornings. Using light fixtures in your favorite colors will customize the decor even more.
