Considerations
-
Consider how many people you'll be grilling for on a regular basis. Most budget-sized grills hold 30 burgers or less. Mid- and high-priced grills hold much more. If you'll be grilling for a large number of people on a regular basis, consider grills that have multiple burners.
Types
-
Gas grills come in two types: natural and propane. If you don't already have natural gas line established, a propane grill is easier and less expensive to install. However, a natural gas grill saves you money over time.

Features
-
Consider if you need a side burner, side table or both. If you're going to be roasting, consider purchasing a grill that comes with a rotisserie. Gas grills store their tanks on the side or underneath. Decide which style is best for you.
Materials
-
Gas grills come with grates in a variety of materials. Chrome and nickel-plated grates can rust, whereas cast iron, stainless steel or porcelain enamel grates last much longer. Consider purchasing a cover to protect the outside of the grill from weather damage.
