According to technology editors at CNet, some common business uses of the device include reading and replying to e-mails and mobile Internet access. Some businesses have also adapted the devices for use in tracking inventory, taking photos of merchandise and scanning business cards. Restaurant users may take orders on PDA devices for immediate wireless transfer to the kitchen.
Business Usage Policies

According to a 2010 memo from the Nicolai Law Group, businesses that deploy PDAs should create and enforce business usage policies. Not only do such policies help curb unauthorized access of the devices, but the policies can help ensure compliance with laws regulating pay for hours worked.
