How Much Does a Sears Portrait Manager Make in Salary?

Putting a smile on the customer's face rates as a top goal for many businesses, but at a portrait studio, it's a must. Sears department stores offer roles in on-site studios for portrait photographers, sales associates and managers.

Hourly Pay

In 2010, pay for a Sears portrait manager ranged from $14 to $16 an hour, reports Glassdoor.com, versus the $9 to $10 hourly wage that Sears' studio photographers typically earn.

Other Retail Wages

Most U.S. states match the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour, although several states pay more, according to July 2010 data from the U.S. Department of Labor. As of May 2008, the median hourly pay for retail salespeople was $9.86 an hour, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports, with people in general merchandise, clothing and department stores earning around $9 an hour.
