Why Do Feet Peel?
It is natural for feet to peel slightly. Dead skin cells form the first layer of skin on the human body. However, if you are experiencing a significant amount of skin peeling on the foot, then you may have a fungal infection or a form of eczema.

Fungal Infection
-
A fungal infection, such as athlete's foot, can be identified by a doctor through skin scrapings. There are many over-the-counter medicines that can treat fungal infections. Your doctor may also prescribe some topical cream to help clear the infection.
Eczema
-
Eczema is often a reaction to dyes and rubbers used in socks and sneakers. It typically presents itself as a series of small raised bumps that can turn into itchy, scaly skin that will peel off. Eczema is treated by changing the socks and shoes worn by the individual.

Prevention/Solution
-
Check with your family doctor before attempting any preventative measures. Plan to switch to socks that are breathable, such as 60% cotton, and change shoes every day. Also wash your feet every day and make sure to thoroughly dry them.
