Which Is Better Cable, Satellite or Antenna?

There are three main options for television: cable, satellite and antenna.

There are three main options for watching TV: cable TV, satellite TV and antenna TV. There are pros and cons to each of these options, so it is up to the individual to decide which option is best for their particular situation.

Cable

Cable is the most reliable form of TV communication. There is little or no interference during bad weather, there are more available channels than with an antenna, and some other services such as pay per view are usually included in cable services. However, cable can be the most expensive option for TV viewing.

Satellite

Satellite TV is often cheaper than cable TV but more expensive than using an antenna. Satellites offer a wide variety of channels at a reasonable cost. Satellites also have better reception than antennas and can at times pick up on more channels than cable. Unfortunately, satellites usually require the installation of a dish outside of the home and can lose reception during bad weather.

Antenna

Using an antenna to watch TV is the most cost-effective option. The antenna picks up on broadcast channels for free. However, there are fewer channel options available for those using an antenna. Antennas pick up on fewer channels than cable or satellites.
