Features
-
SMART Boards are large, touch-sensitive screens that communicate with a projector or computer that generates an image on the board. These boards are assigned to a single teacher or classroom or moved from classroom to classroom. The Smart Technologies website features an area where teachers can exchange lessons or ideas for integrating SMART Boards into the classroom (see Resources).
Uses
-
Teachers and students can use special pens to draw on the boards or manipulate figures and designs. SMART Boards enable learners to access the Internet and display pictures, diagrams and video. They also give teachers the ability to record a complete lesson or presentation and upload it to a website for future viewing.

Accessories
-
SMART Boards can come with special pointers; wall, ceiling or floor mounts; and a Bluetooth connection that eliminates the need for wires between the board and the computer. Other accessories include speakers, extension cords and a mobile stand that allows the board to be moved from room to room.
