Cincinnati Community Resources for the Elderly
Cincinnati provides a number of community-based resources for the elderly. There are organizations, both public and private, that provide assistance with food, housing, income and long-term care.

Housing

The Residential State Supplement is a program that provides money for housing for Cincinnati seniors who qualify. Qualifications include being eligible for Medicaid and living in an approved facility. An assisted living waiver is also available for seniors that are Medicaid-eligible and need some care.
Home Care Services

The Elderly Services Program provides a case manager and services that allow an elderly person to remain in his home longer than he otherwise might. These services include housekeeping, meal delivery and transportation, among other services. HOME Choice is a program that helps transition those in nursing homes back into community-based settings.

Home-Delivered Meals

Several Cincinnati-area resources provide home-delivered meals to seniors who qualify. Meals on Wheels provides a daily meal. PASSPORT is an Ohio program that helps seniors remain in their homes. The Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio can provide information on these programs and others.
