Roast pumpkin seeds after Halloween to reuse your jack-o'-lantern.

You can eat roasted pumpkin seeds plain or seasoned; roasting your own pumpkin seeds is an excellent way to make good use of the entire pumpkin. Roasting pumpkin seeds can take as little as half an hour. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Process

    • Rinse the pumpkin seeds, pat them dry with a paper towel and lightly toss them with olive oil, canola oil or melted butter, covering them thoroughly. Spread the oiled seeds on a foil-lined baking tray and place the tray in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Roasting

    • Roast the oiled pumpkin seeds at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for between 20 and 30 minutes. At the halfway point, remove the tray and stir the seeds to ensure an even roasting. Remove the roasted seeds from the oven and allow them to cool before eating them.

    Seasoning

    • For a tasty alternative, add flavoring agents to the seeds when you are tossing the pumpkin seeds with oil. Some options include sugar, salt, cinnamon and cumin.
