Information on Desert Mountain in Arizona

Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, Desert Mountain is a private community of expensive houses and elite golf courses. Desert Mountain prides itself on being one of the most luxurious and posh communities in the world, and those who can afford it enjoy 300 days of sunshine every year.

  1. History

    • Desert Mountain did not take long to become widely known as a great golf location. Construction started in 1986, and by the following year the first golf course, Renegade, a Jack Nicklaus Signature, was opened. Over the next 17 years, five more Jack Nicklaus Signature courses were built, including numerous clubhouses, fitness centers and villages.

    Housing

    • Between the golf courses and clubhouses, you will find quaint little villages, each built in its own unique style. You can find cottages, villas and ranches. Be prepared to pay, though, as the prices generally start at $400,000 as of November 2010 and can go up to as high as $11,000,000.

    Things to Do

    • Aside from world class golfing, Desert Mountain offers many other activities that are fun for the whole family. At the Sonoran Clubhouse, kids of all ages can enjoy their numerous activities offered while taking a break from mom and dad. The arts and crafts, field trips and other sporting events will keep everyone busy and happy all year round.
