Information on Religious Nonprofit Grant Applications
Registered nonprofit organizations have the opportunity to apply for grants that would be otherwise unavailable. There are a number of outlets available to these organizations through which such grants may be found.
-
Nonprofit Status
-
For many grants that are available to religious organizations it is necessary to be a registered not-for-profit organization, or nonprofit. In order to become a registered nonprofit, an organization must be incorporated. This can be done at the office of either the Secretary of State or the Secretary of Commerce, depending on the state in which you live. Once incorporated, the organization must be assigned a board of directors who accept legal responsibility for the organization's activities.
Benefactors
-
There are a number of benefactors who give money to religious nonprofit organizations. Some of these include the Zimmer Family Foundation, The Grace and Franklin Bernsen Foundation and the Chattanooga Christian Community Foundation. Search for benefactors who have mission statements, values and goals that reflect those of your organization.
