The lats and pecs are two of the biggest muscles in the upper body.

Lats and pecs are two large, opposing muscles that make up the torso. The lats, or latissimus dorsi, are the broadest muscles in the back, and the pecs refer to the pectoralis major, or the biggest of the two chest muscles.

    • Stand in a doorway, and place your outstretched arm against one of the walls. Turn your body away from the positioned arm until you feel a stretch in your chest. Repeat with the opposite arm.

    • Stretch your lats with the prayer pose. Kneel on the ground, and extend your arms on the floor in front of you. Sit back while your arms are still on the ground.
