Pollination
-
Dwarf apple trees must be spaced 50 feet apart or less for adequate cross-pollination. Crab apple trees are frequently used to cross-pollinate other apple trees.

Site Selection
-
To prevent moisture-related disease, plant apple trees in full sun. Allow enough space between trees and other trees, structures, roads and sidewalks for the tree to grow to its mature size.
