Launch

After Eight mints were first launched in the U.K. in 1962 and have become, since then, an easily recognized after-dinner chocolate throughout Europe.

Unique Market

Products sometimes claim to be the first of their kind but will often be introduced to a previously established niche in the market. After Eight created its own place in the consumer market, coining the phrase "after-dinner mint."

Advertising

In the product's first television advertisement in 1963, the mints were marketed as the perfect end to a high-class dinner party.

The Logo

The logo, which adorns all After Eight products, is a representation of an antique Baroque-style mantle clock, and is featured in many of the brand's early television commercials.
