If there is money to be made in the caps as the article suggests, then I suggest the recyclers remove the caps themselves and get on with the moneymaking process. People replace those caps for a reason, to keep insects out and to keep our recyling bins clean and bug free from spilled leftover contents. It also keeps alot of caps off our streets and lawns, and from going down into the sewer systems. People will quit recycling altogether if things get too cranky as per dealing with the returns. Most don't want to deal with it as it is, especially here in the consumerist United States. We are a 'throw it away and forget about it' society, a very lazy one at that when it comes to taking care of our beautiful country.
