Steel roofing runs between $3 and $10 per sq. ft., aluminum roofing runs between $7 and $15 per sq. ft. and copper roofing can cost upwards of $18 per sq. ft. These prices reflect the cost of materials and labor.
Removing and disposing of an existing roof can have a huge influence on the cost of having a new roof installed. Removal and disposal of a residential roof can cost up to $5 per sq. ft.
Having to install a roof around skylights or other architectural features can drive up the price. Consumers may also be charged extra to install a steep roof. A complex roofing project can add up to $3 extra per sq. ft.
