Autocad Match Annotative Properties

In computer drafting, annotations are the items used to add information to drawings. Annotations include text, dimensions and symbols with assigned properties that vary item appearance. Matching annotative properties is a practice to maintain drawing consistency and clarity.

  1. Annotative Properties

    • The properties of annotations include size, scale and tolerance for dimensions. These properties must be adjusted for information legibility on final drawings or the page layouts. AutoCAD software can automate these collective adjustments when an annotation scale is set in the project.

Match Annotative Properties Through AutoCAD Styles

    • Other properties defining annotative appearance are controlled through Annotative Text, Leader, Dimension and Table Styles. After the styles are defined, annotative objects in the same style will have matching properties throughout the file. The annotation scale setting then controls consistent appearance on page layouts.

Match Annotative Properties Through Match Properties

    • The Match Properties, or MATCHPROP, tool matches the property and style settings from a selected source object to a destination object. This tool can be used at a specific level to match annotative properties, resulting in consistent appearance of annotated information within a set of project drawings.
