3.5L Dodge Magnum Performance


The Dodge Magnum is a sport wagon sold by Chrysler from 2005 to 2008. During its final year of production, the Magnum offered two V-8 and two V-6 engine options, including a 3.5-liter V-6 providing good highway performance.


  • Offered with the Dodge Magnum SXT, the 3.5-liter V-6 engine is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. This engine is rated at 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque.


  • Available in rear- and all-wheel-drive, the Dodge Magnum SXT has a payload capacity of 1,270 pounds. In rear-wheel-drive, this Magnum has a towing capacity of 1,000 pounds; in all-wheel-drive it is 2,000 pounds. The Edmunds website notes that "No Magnum is meant for towing...."

  • The Dodge Magnum 3.5-liter V-6 uses regular fuel and averages 15 miles per gallon city, 22 mpg highway in all-wheel-drive. The rear-wheel-drive model averages 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway.
