What Is Psychological Science?

"Psychological Science" is the flagship academic journal published by the Association for Psychological Science. The Association, which publishes three other journals as well, was founded in 1988 to promote research and teaching of scientifically oriented psychology.

    • The Association for Psychological Science has approximately 20,000 members, including leading psychological clinicians, administrators and researchers, with cognitive psychologists and social or personality psychologists as its largest membership groups. It exists to promote psychology as a science at a national level.

    The Journal "Psychological Science"

    • The Association for Psychological Science publishes four journals. "Psychological Science," its flagship publication, is ranked consistently as one of the top ten academic journals on psychology in the world, with the Institute for Scientific Information ranking it as the #6 academic journal about psychology in the world, out of 111 total journals, in 2009. "Psychological Science" is published monthly, with abstracts published in over three dozen databases.

    Topics Covered in "Psychological Science"

    • "Psychological Science" publishes articles on developmental psychology, biopsychology, health psychology, social psychology, behavior neuroscience and cognitive psychology. It also focuses on publishing new developments in the field of scientific psychology, including innovations in research methods and analysis.
