Dodge Pickup Truck Specifications

The Dodge Dakota and Dodge Ram 1500 represent Chrysler's mid and full-size pickup trucks. In 2010, the Dodge name was dropped. Trucks are now sold under the new Ram brand. They are available in a variety of configurations.

  1. Ram Dakota

    • The Ram Dakota, which seats up to six passengers, is available in a two and four wheel drive. It is powered by a 3.7-liter V-6 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It is 218.5 inches long, and sits on a 131.3-inch wheelbase. Payload capacity ranges from 1,660 to 1,810 pounds. Standard towing capacity is 2,000 pounds.

    Ram 1500

    • The Ram 1500 comes in two and four wheel-drive and offers four cab configurations. Engines include 3.7-liter V-6, 4.7-liter V-8 and a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8. Seating three to six passengers, the truck is 229 inches long and sits on a 140.5-inch wheelbase. Payload capacity ranges from 1,430 to 1,780 pounds. Standard towing capacity is 3,400 to 5,000 pounds.

    Ram Heavy Duty

    • Based on the same platform underpinning the Ram 1500, the 2500 and 3500 comprise Ram's heavy duty truck line. The HEMI 5.7-liter V8 is standard. The 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel V-6 engine is optional. Standard towing capacity is up to 5,050 pounds.
