What Is Asus PMP?

The ASUS PMP (Portal Music Processor) utility was released in 2009 as bundled software with the ASUS Xonar D2X Sound Card. The software is designed to use the card's analog loop-back capabilities to re-record DRM-protected music.

  • Asus's PMP is an audio processing software capable of processing MP3 or WMA file formats. It can be used to normalize volume levels in your music. It can also permanently encrypt Dolby effects into digital audio files.

  • The ASUS PMP utility is capable of converting digital music content into CD audio or regular MP3/WMA files by using Dolby Headphone, Smart Volume Normalization Processing and Dolby Virtual Speaker (with Pro-Logic II).

  • Windows Media Player 10 is required to use the ASUS PMP utility. Additional software in the bundle includes RightMark Audio Analyzer, Ableton Live Lite, Cakewalk Production Plus Pack Editor and PowerDVD 7.0.
