Basic Rules & Requirements
-
The rules for any SAT practice test -- or any real SAT test -- are the same. The College Board recommends that when taking a practice test, students simulate conditions of the real test as closely as possible. Thus, the practice test should take three hours and 20 minutes, and students should always use a No. 2 pencil and write only in the pages provided.
The Essay
-
The test will pose a question to students. The student will have two pages and 25 minutes in which to write an essay that answers the prompt. The College Board will evaluate the student's ability to choose a point of view, to reason through it and to write effectively with correct grammar in English.
