The nightlife in Reno lasts all night.

According to a 2007 study conducted by Info Search International, Reno, Nevada welcomed about five million visitors in 2007. Although an estimated 85 percent of vacationers visit the casinos, Reno is also home to many other types of leisure activities.

  1. Dining

    • Casual diners can enjoy cafes and family restaurants, such as Pirate's Pizza, which was voted "Best Pizza in Reno" in the "Reno Gazette Journal." Those looking for a little glamor will find something romantic and upscale. Reno is home to La Strada, one of the top 10 Italian restaurants in the country. For vegetarians, Plum Good offers soups with vegetarian options, along with made-to-order salads.

    Shopping

    • Malls, boutiques and outlets abound in the city so be sure to shop. The Legends at Sparks Marina offers outlet shopping in an upscale environment that includes a lake and outdoor fireplaces. Lovers of vintage fashion will want to check out Junkee Clothing Exchange, a store that features everything from clothes and shoes to costumes and retro furniture.

    Nightlife

    • Be it a dance club or live music, nightlife lovers can enjoy it all in Reno. The Beach features disc jockeys from around the country for dancing all night along, while the Reno location of the Knitting Factory offers live music from national and local acts in an all-ages atmosphere.

    Family Activities

    • Reno doesn't just cater to grown-ups. It's also home to many family-friendly attractions. Wild Island Adventure Park offers a water park, mini-golf course and bowling alley, while Ultimate Rush Thrill Park features a fall from an 185-foot tower and bumper cars. Circuses, zoos and a video arcade are also popular attractions.

    Sports

    • Hardcore athletes and adventure-seekers can enjoy mountain skiing, snowmobiling and skydiving in Reno. Travelers who enjoy more relaxing outdoor activities will be able to check out swimming, golfing and camping. Local parks--such as Galena Creek--feature beautiful hiking trails all year.
