Why Do a Staff Survey?

Why Do a Staff Survey? thumbnail
Staff surveys provide the opportunity for feedback.

Staff surveys allow employees to provide feedback to a company's management team via paper, online tools or over the telephone. There are several good reasons why a company would want to conduct staff surveys.

  1. Employee Engagement

    • Surveys allow the managers to measure how engaged employees are with the company. Through surveys, questions are asked such as, "Do you have the opportunity to use your skills and do you feel your job is important?"

    Recognition

    • Through staff surveys, managers can ask the employees how they would like to be recognized for an outstanding performance. If employees do a good job, the staff may prefer gift checks as opposed to gift cards to a restaurant.

    Management Assessment

    • Staff surveys provide feedback to management about their effectiveness. Anonymously, the staff can let the management team know what company initiatives and management styles yield the best return for the investment of time.
