The St. Marys Rock Shrimp Festival is held every fall by the Kiwanis Club of St. Marys, Georgia. Each one-day festival has a different theme, but the festival features some basic highlights --- such as a parade and a race -- every year. Races

The St. Marys Rock Shrimp Festival features a number of foot races. Races -- including 1.5k, 5k and 10k -- kick off the festivities starting around 7:30 a.m.
Parade

A themed parade starts each year at 10 a.m. The parade features homemade floats and displays, and prizes are given for the best entries. A trophy named Rocky is given to the best entrant each year.

Proceeds

All proceeds from the Rock Shrimp Festival are used locally. Much of the money is used to fund the Kiwanis Club's projects, including helping underprivileged kids and handing out Thanksgiving baskets to families.
