Canadian Electrical Code Training

The Canadian Standards Association and private educators provide training in the Canadian Electrical Code.

The Canadian Electrical Code sets standards related to electrical equipment installations. The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and private educators offer training in the code.

Canadian Electrical Code

The Canadian Electrical Code published by the Canadian Standards Association sets standards for the construction, testing and production of electrical equipment. The code covers general installation requirements, standards for evaluations of specific electrical equipment and installations, electricity distribution and transmission and objective-based electrical codes for industry and institutions.

Electrical Code Training

Training in the Canadian Electrical Code is offered by the CSA and private educators. For example, the CSA offers a two-day interactive workshop, Canadian Electrical Code Essentials. Private companies, such as The Electricity Forum, also offer workshops or courses.

Course Content

Canadian Electrical Code training generally covers the key sections of the code. Examples include grounding and bonding, receptacle requirements, transformers, hazardous locations, workplace electrical safety and fire alarm systems. Workshops or courses are also offered on specific sections of the code, such as the CSA's motor installations and high voltage course.
