What Is Eyelash Wool?

Construction

Eyelash yarn has a thin, threadlike core. From this core emerge regularly spaced, long fibers. A short length of this yarn looks like fake eyelashes, hence the name.

Most eyelash yarns are made from 100 percent polyester. Some, however, are made with cotton, silk, wool, rayon and mohair.

Uses

When eyelash yarn is used on its own, it yields a thin fabric that can be finely gauged or airy, depending on the size of knitting needles or crochet hook used. Eyelash yarn is commonly paired with another, more substantial yarn and made into a scarf.
