Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPS) and International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) are the standard coding systems used to establish the amount of money practitioners are remunerated for their services. Using mock cases, students must identify the correct code and fill out the appropriate claim form.

MOSS provides students with practical training in numerous areas and is parallel to the software used by medical office billers. Using MOSS, students learn how to schedule appointments, maintain records and bookkeeping, input medical and regulatory data, enter codes for insurance claims, manage patient accounts and track all payments received, sent and due.
